Field and Lab Facilities

WATER QUALITY AND SEDIMENT CHARACTERISATION LABORATORY

The School of Earth and Environment has a comprehensive Environmental Analysis Laboratory that is used and contibuted to by our research group. The laboratory has facility to undertake routine nutrient analyses using the Lachat auto-analyser, chlorophyll-a and sediment charcaterisation. In addition we have ability to conduct various biochemical analyses, and basic phytoplankton culturing facilities. We also routinely undertake phytoplankton counts for clients using both microscopic and flow cytometric methods.

FIELD EQUIPMENT

Our research team regularly undertakes field investigations as part of our research, including water quality assessments of lakes, estuaries and wetlands. In addition we are also experiences in depolyment of in situ sensors and meterological stations for colllection of high frequency data.
